General informations
The Cutting Head YK52 is used for the distance con-trolled 3D-cutting of thin sheets with Nd:YAG-lasers.It has been worked out precisely, it is rugged, easy tomaintain and to adjust.
The Cutting Head YK52 sets to a standard with threefocal lengths as a future orientated, economical solu-tion for the cutting with Nd:YAG-lasers. The compo-nents of the modular cutting head can easily becombined and completed, and can price worthy beadjusted to customer specific applications.
A low weight and an optimum slim design are thespecific constructional features of the Cutting HeadYK52. The position of the tool center point (orifice ofthe nozzle electrode) is not changed when changingthe axial focal position. The adjustments can easilybe effected from the outside.
The Cutting Head YK52 is operated with the Laser-matic®Zelectronics.
For each sensor insert, different nozzle electrodesare available. The available designs of the nozzleelectrode can be seen in the list of the parts.
Protection glass
The protection glass is integrated into the sensor ins-ert. When polluted it is easy to exchange or to cleanwhile the adjustments of the lens and the cuttinghead rest untouched.
Cutting gas
The cutting gas feeds and the connecting socket forthe electrode cable are positioned directly at theconnector head.
Simultaneously the lens and the protection glass arecooled by the cutting gas. A pressure compensationbetween the top and the bottom side of the protectionglass reduces its load so that - compared with con-ventional cutting heads without a pressure compen-sation - decisively thinner protection glasses can beused.
Connector head with focusing optics
The Cutting Head YK52 is mounted into the beampath behind the collimator. The basic part is the con-nector head with the lens mount and the focusinglens. Lenses with a diameter of up to 52 mm can beused.
The centring of the lens is made with 4 screws whichare positioned crosswise. The centring range is ±1mm in both directions. The vertical focal positioncan be changed by displacing the lens with the lensmount between -4mm and +5mm. If requested, thelens mounts can be adapted to specific lens diame-ters. The optionally available mounting tool enablesan easy exchange by keeping the centring after ha-ving opened the cutting head.
For the opening, the sensor insert must be unscr-ewed below the connector head. Thus the protectionglass is also accessible which can easily be removedfrom the sensor insert for cleaning and exchangingpurposes. The adjustments of the lens and of the cut-ting head are not affected in this case.
Cooling of the sensor insert
Additionally, a gas connection is intended for the coo-ling of the sensor insert (only YK52-120 CL and -150CL). This enables an additional protection againstoverheating when cutting thick sheets or highlyreflecting materials like aluminium, brass or copper.
Connecting possibilities
A fastening to a customer specific connecting adapterat the laser tube or collimator is possible via 4 M4borings in the connector head.
Alternatively, the connecting adapters AA YK52...with the female threads M54x1, M58x1 or M58x0.5are available.
Mounting of the cutting head to a linear driveTo mount the cutting head to the Linear Drive LD30 alocking ring is intended.
The mounting of the cutting head to the Linear DrivesLD30C D50 (D66) are performed via suitable connec-ting adapters.
Further information is available in the operating in-structions of the corresponding linear drives.7
Nozzle body and accessories
Corresponding to the focal length of the focusinglens, an appropriate lens mount and an appropriatesensor insert must be used. As per standard, thosecomponents are offered for 80 mm, 120 mm and 150mm focal lengths.
