1 General1.1 Normal Use
The cutting head has been designed to be integrated ina laser system as part of a sensor control circuit forregulating the standoff distance in Nd:YAG laser cut-ting.
The cutting head may only be used for its intended pur-pose within its intended operating parameters.
As a standalone unit or in combination with the relevantequipment specified in this documentation, this unitcomplies with the EN 61000-6-4 and EN 61000-6-2standards in accordance with the provisions ofGuidelines 89/336/EEC and 92/31/EEC. It is intendedfor use in industry.
If the unit is operated in a system together with otherequipment, the entire system must comply with theabove Guidelines in order to be granted general appro-val.
When using cutting heads the operating environmentshould have low humidity.
Please follow all the instructions given in this documen-tation.
If the unit is operated with any equipment other thanthat for which it is intended or if the measures specifiedfor correct EMC installation are not carried out as pres-cribed, compliance with EMC guidelines cannot beassumed without further testing.
1.3 Warranty and Liability
The General Conditions of Supply for Products andServices for the electrical industry apply to our pro-ducts, as well as the completions and restrictions of theGeneral Conditions of Supply for the Precitec KG. Wereserve the right to make design modifications to im-prove quality or expand the options, or modificationsfor production reasons.
1.4 Storage and Transport
Maintain the storage temperature within the rangespecified in the Technical Data.
Take suitable measures to avoid damage due tomoisture, vibration or impact.
Do not store in or near magnetic fields (permanentmagnets or strong alternating fields).
1.2 Improper Use
Improper use is defined as any use which is at variancewith intended use. In such cases, liability rests with theuser.
Opening the unit or dismantling the components willinvalidate the warranty. This does not, however, applyto the replacement of parts subject to normal wear andtear, nor does it apply to maintenance or adjustments,provided such work is expressly indicated in this doc-umentation.
Do not touch the sensor inserts or nozzle electrodesduring operation. This would cause the sensor to mea-sure incorrectly.
Incorrect operation of the device or improper selectionof cutting parameters can cause reflections, which mayendanger the cutting head as well as other compo-nents of the cutting machine, especially when cuttinghighly reflective materials (i.e. copper, brass or alumi-nium). If cutting with oxygen the cutting head may bedamaged by burning. This danger increases with in-creasing oxygen pressure.
We cannot assume any liability for any injuries or da-mages which are caused by incorrect operation of thedevice or improper selection of cutting parameters.Any modifications made by the user to the unit will ren-der liability null and void.
