The TV organizer had planned t o find four musicians who could act as well as sing. Th ey put an advert isement in a newspaper lookin

h ey had to use act ors for the other three members of theband. As s ome of th ese actor s could not sing well enough, they had t o r ely on other musicians to h elp them. So during th e broadcasts they just pr etended t o sing. Anyh ow their perfor mances wer e humorous enough t o b e copied b y ot her gr oups. They wer e so popular that their fans formed clubs in order to get mor e familiar with them. Each w eek on TV, the Monkees would play and s ing songs written by other mus icians. How ever, aft er a year or s o in which they became mor e s erious ab out th eir work, the Monkees start ed to play and sing their own songs like a real band. Then they produced th eir own r ecords and start ed touring and playing their own music. In th e USA they became even mor e popular than the Beat les and sold ev en more records. The band broke up about 1970, but h appily they reunited in th e mid-1980s. Th ey produced a new r ecord in 1996, with which they celebr ated th eir for mer time as a real b and. Fr eddy the frog(Ⅱ)Not long aft er Fr eddy and th e band became famous, they visit ed Britain on a brief tour. Fans show ed their dev otion b y wait ing for hour s to get tickets for their concerts . Dinosaurs died out s uddenly about 65million years ago.Some s cientists think it came aft er an unexpected incident when a huge r ock fr om space hit th e earth and put too much dust into the air.Others think the earth got too h ot for the d inosaurs t o live on any mor e.Nobody knows for s ure why and how d inosaur disappeared from th e earth in s uch a short t ime.
