这是2010年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试天津卷英语科听力部分，该部分由试卷A和试卷B两套试卷组成，每套试卷各分为两节。

W: Michael, I heard your jazz band is going to be playing at the Student Center
and I’m just calling to let you know I’ll be there.
M: Oh, thanks, but I’m not in the band any more. In fact, I’m not in a group at
all right now.
W: That’s too bad－you’re such a talented musician. Why did you leave the
group?
M: I just couldn’t be a full-time student and still practice with the band every
night. I also missed a couple of performances during my midterm exams, and I thought I’d better quit before the bandleader fired me.
W: Hey, you know my friend Charlie, don’t you? He plays the piano. He and
some of his friends are getting a band together and they need a good singer. M: I wouldn’t have time for that, either.
W: Oh, I don’t think they’ll practice very often. Charlie and his friends are all

M: I don't know. But I've learnt a lot of Italian.

Well, in this course, we've been rock-climbing together several times. And
I guess if I'm interested in the special weekend climbing programme that would be given at the stage part climbing centre next month. The coach is Jim Brown. One of the most experience rock-climbers in the world today. I'm sure that participants will gain a great deal of confidence. And it'll greatly improve there techniques. There will be room for only 20 participants. And so everyone will be given close attention. The cost for the weekend is 300 dollars. 30 dollars should be paid in advance for registration, and the rest should be paid by July 28th. There would be an extra small charge for equipment for any participants who don't have their own. I expect everyone here to take advantages of this wonderful opportunity. Mr. Brown will be in New York for two years at least and maybe longer if the business situation gets worse. He will replace Mr. Smith, who will return to Chicago next week. Mr. Smith reports that the work in the New York office. It is both challenging and interesting. So, we can guess that Mr. Brown will not have too much free time on his hands. Mr. Brown will not be joined by his wife in New York. She will stay here in Washington to take care of their children. Mr. Brown, we wish you every success in your new job.
