DESCRIPTION
Production is strictly controlled and follows an extensive setof instructions established for reproducibility. Ahomogeneous film of metal alloy is deposited on a high gradeceramic body (85 % Al2O3) and conditioned to achieve thedesired temperature coefficient. Nickel plated steeltermination caps are firmly pressed on the metallized rods.Special laser devices are used repeatedly to achieve thetarget value by slowly and smoothly cutting a helical groovein the resistive layer without damaging the ceramics. Afurther conditioning is applied in order to stabilise thetrimming result. Connecting wires of electrolytic copperplated with pure tin are welded to the termination caps. Theresistors are covered by protective coating designed forelectrical, mechanical and climatic protection.Theterminations receive a final pure tin on nickel plating. Scriptmarking designates the resistance value plus coded TCRand tolerance.
