Abstract

Aluminum tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) (Alq3) is one of fundamental materials for organic electroluminescence (EL) devices. This article comments the recent progresses in tuning the light emission and quantum efficiency of Alq3 through chemical modification and aggregation structure variation, which provides us experiences and approaches to design and prepare high-performance organic EL devices based on Alq3 derivatives.
