Chapter5 methods of international settlement remittance – definition Remittance refers to a bank (the remitting bank), the request of its customer (the remitter), transfers a certain sum of money to its overseas branch or correspondent bank (the paying bank) instructing it to pay a named person domiciled in that country. – Parties The remitter: the person who requests his bank to remit funds to a beneficiary in a foreign country.
